Description:
This course will cover multiple pertinent topics for the General Practitioner that already sees pediatric patients or for the practitioner who wants to see more pediatric patients, but you don’t know what you don’t know. This course will be presented in a logical, step-by-step sequence from the initial exam to the restorative procedure. The dentistry is routine, the difference is it has to be done on a child. New insights into child psychology will help you to apply current behavior guidance techniques with an emphasis on treating common Special Healthcare Needs (SHCN) patients. The most recent protocols and techniques for sealants as well as nitrous will be presented and as an added bonus, the ever-increasing prevalence of MIH along with its diagnosis and treatment will be presented. At the conclusion of the lecture the learner will feel confident in increasing the pediatric portion of their practice in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of dental procedures.
